Health Centre
- The NIT Hamirpur Health Center provides 9am- 8pm medical care to the camp us population including students, staff, and their families.
- After consultation, patients can pick up prescribed medicines for free at the pharmacy next to the reception counter. Additionally, specialists visit the hospital on a weekly schedule and see patients.
- Patients can see the doctor on a first-come, first serve basis, and senior citizens and critically ill patients are given priority. The hospital has a Patient Transport Ambulance (PTA) for inter hospital transfer, equipped with facilities like a stretcher and oxygen cylinder.
- Patients can ask for a specialist appointment based on a referral from the hospital physician at the OPD registration counter, and the hospital website lists the daily schedule of physicians and specialists.
MEDICAL FACILITIES
NIT Hamirpur has its own dedicated Health Centre and multifarious medical needs of the Campus Population consisting of students, staff members, faculty and members of their families are met by institute hospital. It’s equipped with all the basic medical facilities and provision of ambulance service for referral purposes during odd hours. Presently Health Centre is serving the strength of more than 5500 students plus faculty and staff including their wards. It offers free of cost medical facilities. The Hospital is headed by the Medical Officer Incharge with a team of other specialists, paramedical and supporting staff.

OPD (Allopathy)
Patients are registered at the reception and are seen on first come, first serve basis, however out of turn consultation may be provided in case of emergency and senior citizens. Patients have the right to consult any doctor. In OPD, clinical consultation is provided to patients who include history taking, clinical examination, diagnosis and providing prescriptions to patients besides advising laboratory tests in some cases. Medication is provided free of cost to the patients. Sub waiting areas are available in front of individual consultation rooms. Public utilities like drinking water and toilet is available. Wheel chairs, trolleys and attendants are there to help very sick patients.
EYE OPD
Our Health Centre has experienced eye specialist who provides part-time services. We have a range of essential equipment including an auto refractometer, slit lamp, distant and near vision drums, Ishihara charts, ophthalmoscope, and trial sets. These tools enable accurate eye examinations, diagnosis of refractive errors, assessment of visual acuity, color vision testing, examination of the eye's interior structures, and determination of appropriate prescriptions. With these resources, we ensure comprehensive and personalized eye care for our patients.
MD MEDICINE OPD
Dr. Pushpendra Verma Visits health center as per the schedule and gives his expert advice to our students, staff and faculty.
DENTAL FACILITY
We have Dental Docor (B.D.S) in our dental wing. He visits health center as per the schedule mentioned on the Health Centre Page on Institute Website . We have well equipped and latest dental chairalong with a dental xray.
COUNSELING SERVICES
Psychological counselor is available for providing counseling services to the students, staffand faculty members of the institute. Medical Officer Incharge gives awareness programs on topics like stress management, mental health awareness, positive psychology, and on current topics like COVID- 19.
Ward/IPD facility
Ward facilities for observation and management of medical problems like typhoid, acute gastroenteritis, COPD, bronchial asthma, viral fever, pneumonias etc. are available. There are two wards-one male and onefemale, with beds and one isolation room for patients of communicable diseases who require complete isolation.
Pharmacy
Free reliable quality medicines are available to beneficiaries on doctor’s prescription during OPD.
Minor OT
Provides services for minor surgical procedures like dressing of lacerated wounds, suturing of minor lacerations and re-suturing excision of corns and cysts under local anesthesia.
Ambulance services
24X7 patient referral and transport services are available during OPD hours as well as emergencies to the nearest super specialty hospitals.

- In case of emergency, Medical Officer is available on call 24*7. (Residence of medicalofficer on contract is inside the campus)
