Ans: One can take admission to the Undergraduate programmes at NIT Hamirpur only through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) after qualifying JEE (Main) examination of the same year. No other means of admission is available at NIT Hamirpur.

Ans: One can take admission to M.Tech programme through Common Counselling for M.Tech(CCMT) after qualifying GATE. If seats remain vacant after GATE qualified candidates, in some specific low popular Specializations, admission can be given to Non-GATE candidates.

Ans: Apart from M.Tech, NIT Hamirpur offers Postgraduate programmes in M.Sc. ( in Applied Chemistry, Mathematics and physics), MBA. All these are 2 years (4 semesters) programmes.

Ans: For the programmes for which admission is done through central bodies like CSAB (for UG), CCMT( for M.Tech), JAM (for 2 year M.Sc.) etc. , if a student cancels/ surrenders his/her admission before the last date for seat surrender for the last round of admission so that his/her seat can be included in the vacancy list, he/she will get back money after statutory deductions from the admission fee.

Ans: Yes, there is a provision for startup grant at NITH, as follows:
i) Under CM start up registration link is https://nith.ac.in/cm-startup for registering your idea, project, start-up company for incubation. Rs. 25,000/- per month sustenance allowance is provided by the funding agency (Dept. of Industry, Govt. of H.P) for one year or till the development of the prototype. Technical committee constituted as per guidelines of the scheme evaluates the projects/idea for final selection. The incubation center is set up under this grant at Central Block- level-0.
ii) Uttishathati foundation iTBI NITH (section 8 company) will be registering the innovative ideas, projects, and startups for incubation in the coming session (2024-25) as per standard operational guidelines.

The Institute allows financial assistance to the inventor up-to a maximum amount of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees one lac) (inclusive of Govt. fees, attorney charges, taxes etc.) or the actual cost whichever is less for patent filing. However, the limit is subject to variation from time to time as per the approval of the FC/BOG.
