The objective of this BCTA-2019 is to bring together experts from various domains to explore the current state of the art of block chains, approaches for developing and interrelating Blockchain technology and increasing issues concerning Blockchain enabled security and privacy of personal data use. This FDP is to provide participants with understandings of various methodologies, techniques, and tools related to Blockchain Technology.

About the Department

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur was established in 1989. The mission of the Department is to impart high-quality graduate and undergraduate education and carry out leading-edge research in various disciplines of Computer Science & Engineering. The Department offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Dual-Degree degree programs. The Department also offers Ph.D. in the research areas such as Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Network Security, Wireless Sensor Networks, NLP, and various other domains. The Department is actively involved in organizing various technical events, expert talks, and workshops for all round development of its students and faculty members.

About the Institution

National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is one of the premier institutions of India. It was established in 1986 as Regional Engineering College, a joint and cooperative enterprise of the Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh. The Institute was declared as an Institute of National Importance under the Act of Parliament in 2007. NIT Hamirpur was ranked as the best NIT in terms of infrastructure by the World Bank in 2007 and also most beautiful campus in India. It offers Graduate, Postgraduate, and Doctorate Education in Engineering, Architecture, Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management. About the FDP

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is organizing two weeks National level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Blockchain Technologies and its Applications (BCTA 2019) sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical System (ICPS) Division of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt.of India. Distinguished academicians, faculty members, research scholars, undergraduate, and graduate students are invited to attend this programme. This FDP covers various concepts of Cryptography, Distributed System, Cryptocurrency, Blockchain Mining, Advances in Blockchain and its Applications, Blockchain Software and their uses, Practical Demonstration on Ethereaum followed by Live Project work for the participants. This FDP comprises of theory as well as hands-on sessions in the area of security and Blockchain. 50% of the course is designed for theory, use–case demonstrations, and research oriented discussion, which shall be helpful in understanding the of the process and the remaining 50% for practical implementation using Ethereaum.

  1. Maximum Number of Participants: 30 (Selection on the basis of first come first served)
  2. Registration Fee: Nil.
  3. Accommodation: Free Accommodation will be provided in the Campus’s Hostels on sharing basis.
  4. Food Facility: Free break fast, lunch, and dinner will be provided during FDP program to all the participants.
  5. Participants should carry their own Laptops for hands- on training.
  6. Travelling Allowance: Train and Bus fare to the extent of Rs. 2000 shall be reimbursed on producing the valid travel tickets.

ROAD LINK

The campus is situated at Anu in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh and is 3 kms from the main bus stand of Hamirpur on (NH-70). The city of Hamirpur is well connected with the rest of the country by road. Hamirpur is at a distance of about 480 kms from Delhi

RAIL LINK

Nearest broad gauge train head is at Una (Himachal Pradesh), at a distance of 80 kms from Hamirpur. Una is well linked to all parts of India and journey is of nine hours from Old Delhi Railway Station. Taxi/Bus services are available from Hamirpur to Una. NIT Hamirpur is around 4 kilometers away from Hamirpur bus stand.IndianRailways
